Hello,

Here we are in July! How's your year going? I continue to expand my website. Here are links to some recent articles:

I'm also now accepting guest articles on my site. Have a massage-related or healthy living topic you want to write about? Get information about how to submit an article on the article submission page.

I'm always on the lookout for different styles of massage and bodywork, and one of my more recent finds is Kahuna Bodywork. Although this bodywork is sometimes inaccurately called Kahuna massage, according to the Australian College of Kahuna Sciences: "Kahuna Bodywork is not a form of massage. Rather, it works like a dynamic re-patterning process on body, mind and spirit that gives clients the opportunity to realign themselves and change old non-contributing patterns within their bodies."

Kahuna Bodywork is also not the same as Hawaiian lomi lomi massage, although the massage elements of the bodywork do resemble lomi lomi. Again from the Australian College of Kahuna Sciences: "Lomilomi is the traditional Hawaiian family style of massage. Kahuna Bodywork applies ancient universal Kahuna Principles to promote evolution within your and your clients' genetic line. Kahuna Bodywork does contain elements of massage and lomi, and these elements are used according to Kahuna Principle."

In Hawaiian tradition, a kahuna is a trained expert in a particular subject, with the knowledge usually passed down in families. The kahuna who brought Kahuna Bodywork to non-Hawaiians was (Kahu) Abraham Kawai’i.

This type of bodywork is primarily taught in Australia at the Australian College of Kahuna Sciences and other schools of bodywork. In my research, I also found reference to Kahuna Bodywork training in New Zealand and the United Kingdom but not in the United States.
