About Carol Wiley
Licensed Massage Practitioner
This site started in February 2003 as a way to market my massage therapy practice, and it soon became the main source for my clients. Gradually my focus shifted into building the site into a resource of massage therapy, wellness, and self-care information. If you're interested in my massage resume, here it is: As a 1997 graduate of the 900-hour massage therapy program at the Brian Utting School of Massage in Seattle, WA, my focus was deep tissue and Swedish massage plus onsite chair massage. I also have additional training in Soft Tissue Release, Neuromuscular Technique, Abdominal Massage, Thai Massage, and Postural Analysis. I am Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB) and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). In addition to this site, I have an aromatherapy blog, a massage supply store, and a site where you can buy quality essential oils. My other interests include contact improvisation dance, and I am a founding organizer (in 1994) of the Seattle Festival of Dance Improvisation, and the non-profit Dance Art Group (in 2002), which produces the festival and other dance-related workshops/events in Seattle. My background also includes 16+ years of martial arts trainining, mostly in Aikido and Tae Kwon Do, and I am the editor of two published anthologies of essays: Women in the Martial Arts and Martial Arts Teachers on Teaching. I invite you to visit my online bookstore. Before becoming a massage therapist, I was a technical writer and editor and am now using that background to develop my Web business.
