Benefits of pregnancy massage:
- Relieves depression, anxiety, and nervousness caused by hormonal changes
- Increases circulation, which helps reduce swelling and improves the oxygen supply to the baby
- Relieves muscular discomforts such as cramping, tightening, stiffness, and knots
- Helps eliminate waste products, which can reduce fatigue and boost energy
- Helps reduce pain and encourages relaxation to make labor easier
Always tell your massage therapist about your physical condition. Usually, you should not receive massage during pregnancy if you have any of the following conditions:
- Heavy vaginal discharge (watery or bloody)
- Pre-eclampsia
- Diabetes
- High blood pressure
- Contagious illness
- Fever
- Abdominal pain
- Vomiting/Diarrhea
- Any malignant condition
- Unusual pain
